Cooling Tower Sumps
Customer: A major national shipping firm
Scope: Fix blisters from coating that failed on sump walls in the cooling tower.
Coatings applied: Vulcan Painters workers opened the blisters on the failed coating and used a needle gun on the spots, scraping away other coating not tightly adhered as well. They then abrasive blasted the entire surface with SP7 blast, to achieve a good anchor profile, and repaired the blistered areas with a water-based epoxy cementitious resurfacer. The whole structure was top coated with Duraplate U.H.S., designed specifically for immersion in tanks and similar environments.
