Holiday Shutdown Painting
Customer: Goodgame Company, for Honda Manufacturing of Alabama
Scope: Painting three cafeterias at Honda’s plant in Lincoln, during their Christmas to New Year’s Day shutdown. This shutdown project started Dec. 26 and had to be done by New Year’s Day, so Vulcan Painters started with a crew of 29. Painters used stain kill to erase the existing broad purple stripe on the walls, and rolled and brushed on a light beige color over walls and soffits. The customer designated red and green accent walls to highlight food and drink stations. The Sherwin-Williams pre-catalyzed epoxy selected by the customer is glossy, and shows every flaw, so some walls were re-mudded with sheet rock mud because the finish was not smooth enough, including a hallway where telephones and cables were removed after the walls had been painted.
