Oil Pipeline
Customer: A major fabricator working for a contractor upgrading a crude oil pipeline system running from Canada through the Midwest.
Scope: Painting the inside and outside of weld joints on below-ground pipe, and applying an epoxy primer/polyurethane finish coat system on the above ground fabricated spools. The steel pipe had diameters ranging from 20-48 inches, with T's and elbows. It had already had fusion bonded epoxy aplied on the interior diameter.
Coatings applied: Weld joints for underground pipe received a 100 epoxy joint comopound that is applied by cartridge gun. An epoxy primer/polyurethane finish coat system was sprayed on with airless spray on the above ground fabricated spools. The pieces go to upgrade above-and below-ground piping systems.
